Estuaries, and the life they support, are magical places where rivers meet the ocean. Take a deep dive into New Hampshire’s two estuaries with speakers from UNH, The Nature Conservancy, and the Seabrook-Hamptons Estuary Alliance.

SPEAKER BIOS

Kelsey Meyer-Rust

Kelsey Meyer-Rust’s work focuses on running the oyster conservationist volunteer program and helping with oyster restoration in Great Bay Estuary. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire last May with her Ph.D. in marine biology.

Brianna Group

Brianna directs oyster restoration activities and experimentation in the Great Bay. She manages the SOAR (Supporting Oyster Aquaculture and Restoration) program in New Hampshire, partnering with New Hampshire’s shellfish industry on oyster restoration in the Great Bay and supporting restorative aquaculture.

 

Talia Kuras

Talia is a Ph.D. student at UNH. She studies how birds in coastal salt marshes respond to habitat restoration.

 

Christine Bunyon

Christine Bunyon is a project manager, geospatial services lead, and water resource scientist at FB Environmental Associates. She holds an M.S. from the University of New Hampshire, where her research combined remote sensing, or drone, technology with traditional monitoring to study cyanobacteria blooms. At FBE, Christine conducts geospatial modeling, watershed management, and water quality and environmental analysis.
